Little boy blue (& red) His first smile for the camera
The highlights of this month: This month was exciting because Owen spends most of his awake time smiling, looking around, and laughing/cooing. He's definitely starting to develop a personality and a happy attitude that we hope will last him forever. Owen seems pretty healthy- the doctor advised us to quit using molasses in his formula because what we perceived as constipation really was fairly normal. Other than that, he's had no problems. The bottle feeding turned out to be kind of nice because now Nick can take the early morning shift & Amy can get some sleep. By doing a "late-night" & "early-morning" shift, we've managed to become more rested than we were. Towards the end of the month, all of Owen's bushy hair that he was born with started to fall off! This was disappointing, but apparently normal. He looks pretty weird right now, because it is wearing off of the upper sides first, so he has a red mohawk and sideburns. If we dress him up in clothes with a big collar, he looks like Elvis! He's also getting "cradle cap" (looks like serious dandruff) and his face breaks out. The Doctor assures us that all of this is normal for his age, so we just chuckle at his appearence & scrub his face & balding head regularly. We only have a couple of pictures from the early part of the month because we spent all month taking pictures with a camera that had no film in it...<sheepish grin> |
